Karen Horney

The Karen Horney clinic was founded on May 6th, 1955 to honour Dr. Karen Horney work within the field of psychoanalysis.  Dr. Horney is the only female to have a psychoanalytic school of thought, and with more than 55 years of experience Dr. Horney's revolutionary ideas have helped society to understand women by understanding their perceptions, emotions and their mental well-being within their continuous changing roles in society.  

The clinic is licensed by the New York State office of mental health and the clinic is run as a not-for-profit organisation.  The clinic's charge is to offer low cost psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic services to all from any socioeconomic background, the clinic also provides training for mental health professionals.  Persons may contact the clinic either by themselves or they can be referred by doctors, health professionals, family members, and other health agencies.
